VALENCIA: THE ULTIMATE GUIDE

Our Valencia is a city like no other: there's sea, fun, history, sports, art, good food and nice people. 
Here's all you need to know about the city, in order to fit at the very first day!


Airport and Train station

Valencia Manises Airport  (VLC) it's very close to the city center: it's well linked with subway lines 3 and 5.

But don't worry, we will pick you up at your arrival!

The Estacio del Nord - central train station -,  is situated in the heart of the city, next to the Plaza de L'Ayuntamento. 



How to move around in Valencia

There are two separate companies for Subway and Buses. 
EMT runs buses, while Metrovalencia takes care of subway lines. 

 

There are taxis too, and they are even pretty cheap: you may get across the city for 7 Euros.  To get one, you won't need anything else than raising your arm when you see the green light on top.  



Sightseeings in Valencia

Here is the bucket list for your tourist days: 

  • Ciudad de las Artes Y la Ciencas four modern buildings in the heart of the city. That's where the Oceanografic is, the biggest aquarium in Europe. Here's the website!
  • Parc Turia: as amazing as simple. In the old river bed, now there's a park of 14 km, cutting the city. Has to be seen!
  • Torre Serrano: The old medieval tower, still there to be pictured!
  • Catedral de Valencia: in the heart of the city, a no-ordinary complex of churches. You will see why! 
  • The central Market: a very popular place to understand the culture, having fun in people watching... and getting something to eat! 
  • Placa de l'Ajuntament:  the main ancient square, where the municipality meets
  • Albufera: Valencia has even a lagoon! 


Party in Valencia: where and how

  •  In Valencia nights people cruises through small places, where you dance and talk. There are discos too, out of town.
  • The week: saturdays and fridays are your nights. Thursdays are less crowded, wednesday is Erasmus night in the Aragon area. The rest of the week is pretty calm, except some specific venues. 
  • Dress code: be ordered. Selection is not common, but no sleeveless vests or flip-flops. Except Blasco Ibanez area and Carmen area: they are alternative. 
  • Think twice if there is a paid entry - the chances are the place next door with free entry is just as good 


The Beaches in Valencia

  • Malvarrosa Beach: the neareast to the city. Clutter-free, clean, safe and popular among locals.  You get there with tram 6.
  • El Saler Beach: located about 13 kilometres to the south of the city. Bus service does run from the city centre. 
  •  Port Saplaya beach: This beach has better facilities and a lot of people actually lives here. It's 7 kilometers north, connected with Metro trains towards Rafelbunyol


Valencia - Shopping places

 

 

 

 

If you're looking forward to spend some money in nice shops, Valencia offers you what are you looking for. 

 

In the heart of the city you can go to Carrer Colon,  where many brands have their stores. You'll find El Corte Inglés building, very popular in Spain. 

 

At two minutes walk from our property, you will find Arena Shopping Center too. 



Food

 

According to food, Valencia is the spanish leader. 
Paella comes from here and, keep in mind, is made with seafood!

People likes to eat in restaurants: along the roads, you'll see many enlarged bars, when you can try some quick good food at a very cheap price. During your crazy nights, make sure you taste the
Agua de Valencia cocktail: but enjoy it responsabily! 



Fallas

 

Together with the Tomatina, Las Fallas allas is the craziest 3-days celebration in town, in commemoration of Saint Joseph.


Think about a huge insane carnival parade where every neighbourhood produces a construction, to be burned at the end of the parade. place in March and attracts turists from all over the world! 



Green

 

 

Valencia is a green city: besides the 14 km long Parc Turia,
you'll literally see plants and grass at every corner, even just for a few yards and a bench.
After the first week, will be normal to see palms or orange trees along most of the roads.
That's very relaxing: be ready to live well!



Areas to avoid in Valencia

Valencia is a very safe city. Although there are no "terrible places", you would better avoid Nazaret area and, as many other cities in the world, the parks at night.
